But that’s what the real lie consists of, that’s the crime: lying to oneself, being in disharmony with one’s own truth, one’s own innermost knowledge of things, as revealed through one’s consciousness. Objectivity, in fact, means just this: to be in harmony with one’s own subjectivity, not to lie to oneself.
Mind over body. Immaterial over physical.
Leonid Rogozov
Rogozov was a doctor who took part in the sixth Soviet Antarctic Expedition in 1960-1961. He was the only doctor stationed at the Novolazarevskaya Station and, while there, developed peritonitis (an inflammation of the peritoneum, the serous membrane which lines part of the abdominal cavity and viscera.) That meant that he had to perform an appendectomy on himself.
Using only novocaine for local anaesthesia, Rogozov managed to successfully complete the surgery in about two hours. The signs of peritonitis disappeared and he was back to his regular work in two weeks. This is the most famous case of self-surgery. Rogozov went on to live until he was 66, and passed away in 2000.
I’ve always been fascinated by the thin line between H20 and our atmosphere. I imagine that fish see water the same way that we see air - invisible.

Every man I meet is my superior in some way. In that, I learn of him.
The patron saint of music and the blind depicted as if she is finally shrouded and bound on her death bead. Which is untrue - because saints cannot die.

Recursive Arches in Architecture
Recursion is an elegant way that AI researchers use simple decisions to model large-scale behaviors. To think of humans, and the complex decisions we make, broken down to the cellular level. A chain of causality that creates what we consider consciousness.

Scientists have recently observed the golden ratio in full display on the quantum level in chains of magnetically linked atoms spaced one atom apart that behave as if they were a nanoscale guitar string when “plucked” (quantum uncertainty). In sum, there is a perfect relationship between the first two notes of the overtone system. Their frequencies amount to a ratio of 1.618: the oft-cited golden ratio that can be observed throughout nature in our everyday world.
The universe is an ordered place with patterns that can be seen throughout the smallest and largest systems. That order is what comprises our entire identity as humans. When we venture from it we feel disconnected and so we work to tap into it. Music, art, empirical study, religion. They all speak the same truth.
The most important part of having a healthy relationship is making sure that your own ego, your own suffering, is under control.
